Our buttered Chicken Breast is proving to be a firm favourite with guests, and it’s easy to see why.

Served with silky cauliflower purée, crushed new potatoes, fresh asparagus, pickled radish and finished with a rich white wine chicken jus, this dish is the perfect balance of comforting flavours and elegant dining.

Carefully created by our talented kitchen team using fresh seasonal ingredients, it’s a beautiful choice for a relaxed lunch or evening meal here at The Upper House 🌿

Nestled within our gardens stands one of the most special features at The Upper House - our beautiful sculpture representing a couple sharing their first dance.

For us, it perfectly captures the romance, emotion and timeless memories that are created here. Surrounded by peaceful countryside, landscaped gardens and golden evening light, it serves as a lovely reminder of those unforgettable moments shared with the people you love most 🌿

This time, we’ll be creating the sweetest clay sheep during a cosy afternoon of pottery, cake and creativity. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already love pottery, this relaxed workshop is the perfect chance to try something new and enjoy a lovely afternoon with friends or family 🌿

🐾 Whiskers Wednesday 🐾

Many of you already know Bella, our resident Cat of The Upper House, but Cookie - our lovely neighbour from The Milk Barn - has been spending more and more time with us lately… and we think he’s decided he quite likes the hotel life!

The two are 𝙨𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙡𝙮 learning to coexist peacefully. Most days they can be found supervising reception together like a very fluffy management team… although we do still have the occasional disagreement - usually involving food, favourite spots, or who greeted the guests first! 😹

We’re not sure whether they’re becoming best friends or just tolerant co-workers at this point, but either way they certainly keep us entertained. If you’ve spotted Bella or Cookie during your visit, we’d love to see your photos in the comments! 📸🐈

Did you spot us on TV last night? 👀

We were absolutely delighted to feature on the latest episode of Celebs Go Dating - with scenes filmed right here.

If you were watching closely, you may even have spotted our very own Caitlin looking after the couple in our historic Darwin Room. It was wonderful to see The Upper House showcased on screen, and we’re so proud of our team for helping create such a warm and welcoming setting. A little bit of TV glamour mixed with the charm of The Upper House!
