Yesterday marked Keeley’s last day with us at The Upper House ❤️

For the past 12 months, Keeley has been an important part of our Wedding Team, covering Ellie’s maternity leave and working alongside Caitlin and the rest of the team to look after so many of our wonderful couples and their special days.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Keeley for all of her hard work, dedication and everything she has brought to the team over the past year. It’s been a pleasure having you with us, and we’re very grateful for everything you’ve done.

We’re wishing you all the very best as you head off on your next adventure – you’ll be missed! 🥰

As one chapter ends, we’ll also be welcoming Ellie back to The Upper House in September following her maternity leave. We’re looking forward to having her back with the team and seeing our Wedding Team reunited once again.

🪩 𝟯𝟬 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗘! 🎉

We’re getting VERY excited for our 30th Anniversary Party on Saturday 29th August – and we have an incredible evening planned to celebrate three wonderful decades of The Upper House! 🥂

There will be something for everyone to enjoy, with plenty of entertainment, activities, delicious food and drinks throughout the celebration. Take a look at our full itinerary below to see everything we have planned! 🎉

A few things to know before the day…

🪑 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 – We will have seating available around the hotel and gardens, however, chairs will be limited. You are more than welcome to bring your own outdoor chairs along with you, find a spot in the gardens and enjoy the celebrations!

🍔 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 & 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸 – We kindly ask that all food and drink consumed on site is purchased directly from The Upper House and that no food or drinks are brought onto the premises. We’ll have plenty available throughout the celebration for you to enjoy!

This is such a special milestone for The Upper House, and we want to celebrate it with all the people who have been part of our story over the last 30 years – our guests, couples, customers, neighbours, friends, families and community ❤️

It’s going to be an incredible day, and we really can’t wait to celebrate 30 wonderful years with you and make even more special memories together!

Over the last 30 years, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming so many wonderful guests through our doors - for weddings, celebrations, family gatherings, afternoon teas, Sunday lunches, overnight stays and everything in between. ✨ 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻 & 𝗡𝗼𝘄 | 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲 ✨

What a transformation!

As we approach our 30th Anniversary at The Upper House, we’ve been taking a little look back at how the hotel has changed over the years… and we couldn’t resist sharing this before and after of our Johnson Lounge. While plenty has changed, we’ve always tried to retain the character, charm and history that make The Upper House so special.

Over the years, the Johnson Lounge has been the setting for so many moments - friends catching up over a coffee, families coming together, guests relaxing during their stay, and wedding and event guests enjoying one last drink together at the end of a wonderful day 🥂

It’s quite incredible to look back at photographs from years gone by and see how the hotel has evolved, while still being a place for people to come together and make memories ❤️

Our very talented Caitlin from the Restaurant team has been having a little fun with AI and created this fabulous image of our lovely neighbourhood cat, Cookie from The Milk Barn - and we just had to share it! 😂🐈‍

Cookie is certainly looking ready for a coffee break… although we’re not entirely sure he’d be much help with the washing up afterwards! ☕

We'd like to say a huge thank you to Murder by Appointment for making our very first Murder Mystery Evening at The Upper House such a fantastic success!

From the captivating storyline to the brilliant performances, the evening was filled with suspense, laughter and plenty of twists and turns that had everyone thoroughly entertained from start to finish. It was wonderful to see so many guests embracing the Bridgerton theme, helping to create such a fun and memorable atmosphere.

We've been overwhelmed by the lovely feedback we've received, and we're so grateful to everyone who joined us and made the evening so special.

After such a successful first event, we're delighted to be welcoming Murder by Appointment back for our next Murder Mystery Evening...

There's something incredibly special about seeing The Upper House through the eyes of our guests.

We were recently sent this beautiful photograph as part of a Google Review, and we simply had to share it. It's wonderful to see the little details and unique perspectives that our guests capture during their visit, often highlighting the warmth and character of the hotel in ways we might never think to ourselves.
