All our Short Term Let licences are completed and we are now approved and FULLY Licenced for every house in accordance with the new regulations!
This has been a huge undertaking and a big thanks to Ruaraidh Ferguson of Western Isles Energy and Property Services, John Campbell of Campbell Construction, Iain MacDonald our sparky, and many others, but not least of all the other John who carried out the bulk of the work with Maxine and Heather constantly tidying up his mess. We have undertaken Electrical inspections, replaced / upgraded consumer units, added new wiring, added smoke and fire alarms, emergency lighting, signage, knocked out space in walls to carry the not inconsiderable sized fire extinguishers, EPC reports renewed, performed PAT tests, Legionella Risk Assessments, Fire Risk Assessments and all manner of stuff that, quite frankly, I'm glad to see the back of. It has taken around 10 months to complete everything and will keep everybody safe, except my bank account! Oh, and did I mention we replaced 40 doors? Well we did, which necessitated changing frames in many cases to cope with the additional weight and size of these fire compliant doors. Now we can open up all houses again and concentrate on hosting our wonderful guests. Thank you to everybody involved.

New French doors in Druim Mor, with fire rated glass as part of our Short Term Let compliance, specifically the Fire Risk Assessment sections. Over this last few months we have fitted 40 new internal doors with solid cores across our houses, some with automatic closers. In addition to this, we have wired interlinked alarms, emergency lighting, new fire extinguishers, and lots more to help keep you safe.

After a very dark year, all I can say is we are absolutely delighted to have received a full 10 out of 10. With the difficulties in getting various maintenance supplies across to the island from the mainland, restrictions and regulations, additional cleaning measures, lockdown and associated chaos, this is a tremendous encouragement to us. Thank you, thank you, thank you to those who reviewed us - it is appreciated.

Come and have a look around one of our houses in Balallan, Lochs. Ideal base from which to explore Lewis and Harris. In the centre of the island, it's 20 mins to Stornoway. Harris within easy striking distance. 3 bedrooms: 2 doubles and 1 twin. Recent new kitchen and bathroom. Well appinted with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, tumble dryer microwave and fast fiber WiFi.

Come in for a virtual tour of our Newmarket house. 2 bedrooms, 2 miles from centre of town, 1¼ miles to the bigger CoOp. Very near hospital. New kitchen and bathroom just completed.

Come and have a look around Druim Mor house. This 5 bedroom house has superb views, only 10 minutes drive into Stornoway, about 6 minutes to the airport and 11 minutes to the ferry. Plenty of room for a family or families getting together from abroad. Commercial organizations welcome too.
