Did you know that Crete is home to (reputedly) the oldest olive tree in the world? Located just over 25 km from Chania you'll find the olive tree itself as well as The Olive Tree Museum at Vouves.

Estimated between 3,000 and 5,000 years old, it's incredibly still bearing fruit, even whilst being completely hollow inside. It's a really sweet place to visit where you can learn about olive production and the importance of olives to the rural economy here. Thanks for sending the photos, Jo and Chris!

If you're lucky enough to be holidaying with us in Mallorca right now, you'll be in one of only 5 places in the world to witness a total eclipse tomorrow evening (August 12th).

The first total eclipse to happen in over 125 years (August 30th, 1905) in Mallorca, here are the best places to catch the display:

Beginning at 19.38 local time, totality will occur at 21:31:54 and the whole thing will be over by 20:32:42.

For the best views, as the eclipse will only last 1 minute and 36 seconds in total, be in position and comfortable for the first contact at 19.38.

Eclipse glasses, toilet rolls with tin foil covers or even colanders at hand, get ready for this incredible experience!
