Well done girls and Kayla ⚪️🔴

WCA MOWI NORTH LEAGUE
Kinlochshiel 3 v 9 Lovat

With perfect conditions for a shinty match we started slightly on the back foot against Lovat, who brought a very talented team to test us. With Emma Gordon and Mairi Finlayson under constant pressure, Lovat managed to open the scoring and put a few goals away before half time. Gemma Macleod made some good saves but some powerfull shots left her no chance. Kayla Main gave us a glimmer of hope before half time with a blistering run at the Lovat defence and fired it past the keeper.

The second half shifted slightly and we were the more dangerous team in spells with Kayla putting another two goals away and the entire team putting in a monumental shift to stay tight to the Lovat players. Poppy Glasgow did a huge amount of running and had a very good game against a fantastic player. A special mention goes out to the wing centres Daisy Stuart, Ellie-May Gibson and Lauren Maguire, who did a huge amount of running. Also to Emma, for once again making some great tackles and changing the game with her long hitting.

The player of the match, sponsored by Loch Dubh B & B and self catering this week was Kayla Main, sponsored by Dunvegan Groundworks Limited / Dunvegan Plant & Contracting Limited , for her 3 goals. Although the game ended 3-9, there is nothing to be ashamed of. I can see each player improving with every game and even though it is a short season for the girls I am very confident that the better results will come as long as we keep improving.
