Explore Skye or head North onto the North Coast 500. Attadale Estate has four beautifully appointed holiday cottages offering all you need for a holiday in the Highlands of Scotland. Attadale Holiday Cottages are at Strathan, which is a mile up the glen from the entrance to Attadale Estate nestling between the hills and fields near the river Attadale; in the e

venings deer often come into the gardens to graze. Attadale Estate offers glorious walking (including two Munros), and loch and river fishing. When you stay in one of these cottages, you also enjoy complimentary access to Attadale Gardens at all times. There is even a small burn running through the garden. A tranquil place, the only noise comes from the sheep, cows and wildlife that surround the cottages. Deer even wander in during the evening to graze. Traffic on the narrow road that leads up to the cottages is only estate traffic or visitors staying in one of the cottages. Attadale is ideal for family holidays and for visitors of all ages who appreciate the peace. We are close to both Lochcarron and Strathcarron and a short drive from the Isle of Skye. Ideally situated for exploring the entire Highlands, you can drive North to Applecross and the Torridon hills, West to the Isle of Skye and South to Eilean Donan Castle and Loch Ness. You can easily enjoy either the natural wilderness around you or set off on long day trips to explore the North West Highlands.

The welcoming committee for our guests arriving this weekend accompanied by the chorus of birds which is an all day feature at the moment. These sheep know who has right of way, so settle in to the slow pace of Attadale in the Highlands and soak it all in.

The market are starting again for the season, this is a great way to see several local craftspeople in one place and a visit to Torridon is always a good idea! The drive from Attadale Holiday Cottages to Torridon is absolutely beautiful and you pass through Shieldaig, an opportunity to have some delicious seafood right on the waterfront at Shieldaig Bar and Coastal Kitchen .

And here we are! In just over two weeks, we will be starting back with our Torridon Thursday Markets! The dates for 2026 are listed below.

You can expect to find lots of handmade, local, and made with love items. From photography to candles. Original artwork to bird houses. Pottery to soaps. Gifts for loved ones, and yourselves 😉 please come along and support small, independent makers and businesses.

Happy in my work, preparing for the arrival of this week’s guests. Last task of the day chopping kindle, stacking logs & carefully creating the perfect fire for them to enjoy with a cup of tea ☕️ or perhaps a glass of whisky 🥃
