A really enjoyable stay at Jane's lovely guesthouse. I particularly appreciated the peace and quiet and the beautiful view from the bedroom window. Excellent communication including a detailed guidebook."

It's Pride Month in the UK, but here in Stroud we're celebrating particularly on Saturday 25th July.

There will be a march starting at 11.00 (so plenty of time for a lie-in 😉), followed by our usual picnic, with stalls and musicians.

Spring at Sky Blue Guest House is not to be missed. So much going on in the garden and it's ideal weather for relaxing in the hot tub after a day at Stroud's famous Farmers Market.

Note the pink geranium, which has overwintered twice on the sheltered patio and hope you love the colours of the tulips at the moment.

Ooh, look what I've just found! Dont' these look fun? Three workshops during April with Silver Ali, to turn a piece of old-fashioned cutlery into a ring. How wonderful!

Pull up a chair and explore my Little Landing Library. This week I’m focussing on the poetry section. Poetry isn’t for everyone, so if your reaction is “Poetry? Puh-lease!” then look at the pretty pictures and move on! For me, it’s something of a passion, though.

My first husband was an English teacher and writer and although I didn’t have room to keep all his books, the poetry section is the biggest. You’ll find a really eclectic mix of poetry here as I’ve also been collecting poetry books myself since the sixties.

Poetry is ideal for dipping into at the end of a long day whether you’ve been travelling or sight-seeing, walking or studying.

You've still got time to visit the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at Nature in Art, which closes on 12th April. The world’s first museum and art gallery dedicated to fine, decorative and applied art inspired by nature, this is a really lovely place to spend a day.

Just half an hour's drive away, this is a beautiful place to visit and there's always lots going on as well as the main exhibitions.

At the end of your day back at Sky Blue Guest House you can relax in the hot tub, enjoying the evening sun in the sun room afterwards, or spend the evening at one of the many excellent eateries in Stroud. If you save this visit for Sunday you can spend Saturday browsing our Farmers' Market or walking in nearby hills.
