Following the serious incident on Slad Road this weekend, we wanted to share that an important piece of emergency equipment is now available in the town.

A public-access emergency bleed control kit is installed outside Stroud Town Council’s offices at the old Locking Hill Surgery. It contains equipment designed to help control severe bleeding in an emergency, from a range of causes, while an ambulance is on its way. If it is needed, call 999 first. Emergency services can direct you to the kit and talk you through what to do.

We are also working with Gloucestershire Constabulary and Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service to install a knife amnesty bin outside our offices, providing a safe way for unwanted knives and blades to be surrendered and disposed of.

We hope these facilities are rarely needed and recognise they are no substitute for preventative youth and support services - but having them available and knowing where they are located is one small, practical way we can help keep our community safer.

Only two more weeks until our beautiful gates close for the last time this season.

We are open Wednesday - Sunday until Sunday 27th September. So that means 10 more opportunities after today to visit The Garden at Miserden before we close for the winter.
