Located on the Hannam family's dairy farm in beautiful Thomas Hardy country. An idyllic break awaits in one of our three Beautifully furnished Glamping spaces.

We have 3 unique glamping spaces. One tiny Barn which sleeps a family and two shepherds huts. All of our accommodations have an en-suite inside as well as a Kitchen unit with a two ring gas hob and lovely little wood burner to keep things cozy and warm. Outside is a fire bowl with a tripod and grill to cook on and woodfired ovens. Our shepherds huts each have a fantastic wood fired hot tub to rela

x the evening away in whilst the tiny barn has a glorious outdoor copper bath. Bed linen, towels and robes are included as well as teas, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, herbs, salt, pepper, olive oil and marshmallows! A variety of breakfast hampers are also available on pre-order. Well behaved dogs allowed in the shepherds huts (1 medium or 2 small) additional cost applies. Open all year round. Sunday Reset

If only all Sundays were like this. No traffic. No Emails. No rushing about. Just bird song, rolling Dorset countryside, a wood fired hot tub and a sky full of stars ✨

The Heron is in the process of having a mini makeover!!

It’s important to take a step back every now and then to see what can be improved or changed, so we are making some small changes to all 3 of our spaces!

My favourite addition to The Heron has to be the pondside hammock! I could happily waste a few hours there!

A big change is we have opened up Heron Island as a fun area for the kids, my two (plus cousins) have been working hard building a den in there, to be enjoyed and added to by future guests! 🌳

We had also changed some of the soft furnishing and added a load more board games.

Coming soon for guest starting at The Heron will be direct access to the river for paddle boarding and kayaking (wild swimming not recommended) 🚣‍♂️

I always love seeing your wonderful reviews of your stays and I am delighted to say we hold only 5 star reviews across multiple platforms. “Secluded”, “Peaceful”, the “wildlife” and “local walks” always get a mention!

Escape to the Heron this winter!

Note that the two shepherds' huts will be closed, but the Heron is open year-round. It's a short walk from the car park, so arriving in daylight is best. If you're planning a late arrival, I can drive you down with advance notice.
