🐝💧 A little helping hand for our local bees! 🌿

We’re delighted to have added these bee cups to The Pines Hotel earlier this year.

They’re designed to collect rainwater, creating a safe little drinking spot for bees and other thirsty pollinators visiting our garden and balconies 🐝💦

It’s a small addition, but every little bit helps support the wonderful wildlife around us — and with this view, we think our bee visitors have found a pretty lovely place to stop for a drink!

We are delighted to have been able to support Greengage Community Garden with their recent Grand Opening of their brand new Garden Room which has been in the making quite some time!

Greengage are a wonderful local community made up of volunteers who welcome anyone and everyone whether it's to help in the garden or greenhouse or simply to enjoy a cuppa in some lovely surroundings with friendly people. The garden itself is supported in an organic way with biodiversity at its core of every part of its growth and development. If you're staying with us, why not pop in to see them sometime? You'll be met with a warm welcome.

We did it! 🎉

We are over the moon and absolutely delighted to announce that we have officially achieved the Green Tourism Silver Award 🌿

This is a fantastic milestone for all of us at The Pines Hotel, being recognised for the steps we are taking to make our hotel more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

From the little changes we make every day to the bigger steps we take to reduce our environmental impact, we are committed to doing our bit for the planet and protecting the beautiful surroundings we are lucky enough to call home.

A huge thank you to our wonderful, hard working team whose efforts have helped us achieve this and to all of our guests and visitors for also supporting us along the way. We are so proud of what we have accomplished and look forward to continuing our journey towards a greener future 💚

An excellent initiative that many may not be aware of.

Three of our team members - Keeley, Georgina and Rita went down to the beach last week to complete another beach clean and collected everything from bottles to rope to wrappers and large unidentified pieces of plastic which will now no longer end up in our ocean.

We will be back down there again in a couple of weeks to collect more. To anyone local to us who would like to borrow the equipment in order to take part in The Great British Beach Clean this month you would be very welcome to borrow our supplies. Even better, come back with a bag (or more!) full of rubbish and you'll get a coffee on us 🍃☕

The Great British Beach Clean starts tomorrow!

From 18–27 September, people across the UK and Northern Ireland will be coming together for the Marine Conservation Society’s annual Great British Beach Clean.

It’s not just about removing litter. Volunteers also record the types and amounts of litter they find, creating valuable data that helps the Marine Conservation Society understand the problem and campaign for action to reduce marine litter at its source.

With hundreds of beach cleans taking place across the country, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved, whether you’re joining an organised clean or organising your own.

The handsome Dennis came to see us for his annual holiday last month! 🐾❤

He certainly made himself at home in the garden, enjoying the sunshine, sea view and those beautiful Swanage cliffs. What a lovely spot for a holiday 🌊🌿🐶
