We are honoured to announce Nothe Fort will be hosting Standing With Giants Falklands Tribute.

From 5 – 30 November 2025, Nothe Fort will open five days a week, Wednesdays – Sundays, from 10am – 3pm for visitors to view this moving exhibition.

Standing with Giants is a charity that creates large-scale remembrance art installations using recycled building materials and provide meaningful spaces for people to visit and reflect.

The Falklands Tribute represents 255 silhouetted life-size figures of Seafarers, Royal Marines, Army, and Airmen and 3 civilians who lost their lives during the 1982 war on The Falkland Islands with Argentina.

Unusually we still have two dates available this summer in our beautiful lodge, sleeping up to six people and set in its own extensive landscaped gardens, with BBQ hut that can also be used for a garden relaxation room, this lodge at only £490.00 a week, is a complete bargain. With many beautiful areas to explore or just enjoy the lovely seaside town of Swanage, you will have a week to remember.

Only available to serving or ex service personnel suffering with disabilities, PTSD or any work related illness, plus their carers or families.

Heroes Haven Swanage is a purpose built lodge which provides affordable holidays for disabled, injured and visually impaired serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces, their immediate family and carers. Medical service personnel are also eligible to use the facility.

Please come and enjoy the beautiful Christmas trees at St. Georges Church Langton, this weekend. Set in this ancient church, with many trees twinkling in the darkness of the church, all beautifully crafted by the many organisations taking part. Open from 10am till 5pm, Saturday, Sunday Monday.

This is the Heroes Haven tree, depicting the military services we try to help.

What a week it has been for photography! I am thrilled to bits to have been able to shoot the aurora on home turf at long last. I don't think I ever thought I would photograph aurora at Corfe. The only down-side, is that I'll need to completely re-think my April Fool strategy now!
