So why not try a short stay(2 nights minimum) in a cosy, fully equipped cottage within walking distance of the busy village of Ystradgynlais, situated on the edge of Brecon National Park with its fantastic scenery, walking paths, waterfalls, castles, etc. Swansea and the beautiful beaches of the Gower Peninsula is about 30 minutes drive away and the pretty town of Brecon about the same in the opposite direction. The cottage itself was awarded four stars to sleep three people but extra sleeping is available by the use of a sofa bed. Also awarded Certificates of Excellence by TripAdivsor. Ystradgynlais is about midway between Brecon and Swansea. The stunning scenery of Brecon National Park in one direction and the wide sandy beaches of Swansea Bay and Mumbles the opposite way. Ystradgynlais is situated midway between Swansea and Brecon and is a few minutes drive from the stunning Brecon National Park with its mountains, caves, waterfalls, castle and good walking country. June 2019: Still wondering if summer will ever arrive, but thinking of a long weekend, a week or even longer away, why not try Wales? There are still vacancies in August and later in 2019 for this family owned cottage situated on the edge of Brecon National Park. It has been awarded Certificates of Excellence by Trip Advisor for 2018 and 2019 to sleep three comfortably but by the use of a small fold out bed suitable for a child or a double futon situated in the downstairs sitting room will sleep more and is fully equipped for the needs of five people.
The village of Ystradgynlais awarded first prize in Wales in Bloom last year, is a short walk away with all the amenities required for a self catering holiday or there are bigger supermarkets a short drive away. Ystradgynlais is midway between Brecon and Swansea.

The River Tawe is in front of the cottage and herons and ducks can been seen catching their breakfast or you may be very lucky to catch a glimpse of a kingfisher. Good walking paths and country side are near too.
