One of the best views in the world, without a doubt!

3 miles of sand stretching all the way to Burry Holms.

One of my favourite walks is up and over Rhossili Down and then back along the beach :)

What do you get if you cross June with 5:45am at Three Cliffs Bay? 😍

You get views like this πŸŒ…πŸ˜Š

Summer sunrises are hard to get up for πŸ₯± (factor in drive time, walk time and set up time and you are looking at a 3am alarm call! ⏰)

But when you see this, it is all worthwhile πŸ’―βœ¨

And when you drive back through Swansea at rush hour πŸš—, the feeling having been up for hours and seen the sunrise is out of this world πŸ™ŒπŸŒŠ

When you get home, coffee has never tasted so good β˜•οΈπŸ˜„

A cave on the Gower coast has just been confirmed as the home of the oldest art ever found in Britain 🎨

πŸ›οΈ Scientists have confirmed that red pigment markings on the walls of Bacon Hole - a cave in the limestone cliffs of south Gower, located just west of Deepslade and Hunt’s Bay - were created 17,100 years ago, making them the oldest known rock art in Britain and north-western Europe.

πŸ”¬ The painted lines were first discovered in 1912 but dismissed as natural mineral seeping through the rock by 1928 - and forgotten for almost a century. New uranium-thorium dating has now proved the original discovery correct, confirming the paint was applied deliberately by human hands.

πŸ’¬ Dr George Nash, the Welsh-born specialist who led the international research team, said: β€œThis is the earliest prehistoric art we have in Britain. This is an exciting rediscovery, significant in understanding what was going on in Wales in the deep past.”

🌊 When the art was created, the Bristol Channel didn’t exist - the Gower caves would have sheltered hunter-gatherer groups as they followed migrating animals across what is now open sea.

πŸ“‹ Bacon Hole is under the custodianship of the National Trust of Wales. The researchers are calling for it to be designated a scheduled monument.
