Now before the questions start at the bar… yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like! Your costume just needs to begin with the letters C or D.

Looking at some of the brilliant outfits from previous years, we already know you’re going to take this challenge and run with it 😄

Whether you’re clever, creative, completely ridiculous or all three, we can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with. The only thing better than the costumes is seeing the whole pub get involved 💛

There are now only 6 Sundays left to enjoy one of our famous Sunday lunches before we take our annual summer break.

We know many of you make Sunday lunch part of your weekly routine, while others save it as a special treat when family and friends are visiting, so we thought we’d give you fair warning before they’re gone for a few months!

One for the diary 🎶💛

We’re delighted to welcome Cold Comfort Club back to The Kings Head on Saturday 6th June from 7:30pm.

Their last visit had the patio packed with familiar faces, plenty of singing along and a fantastic atmosphere, so we’re looking forward to doing it all again!

The weather forecast is looking a little undecided at the moment 👀 so whether we’re outside under blue skies or tucked up inside, the music will be just as good.

If you’ve seen Cold Comfort Club before, you’ll know what a treat you’re in for. If you haven’t, this is the perfect excuse to join us.

The little pub pup who completely stole the show over Bank Holiday weekend 😄

After a very busy few days greeting customers, making friends and supervising the patio, Callie decided the best way to cool down was with a well-earned pub ice cream behind the bar with Beth 🍦☀️

Honestly… we think she might be settling into bar life a little too well 👀🍻

We absolutely love seeing your four-legged friends making themselves at home here — muddy paws, waggy tails and all 🥰

Well… what a Bank Holiday weekend that was ☀️🎶🍻

A proper little heatwave, a patio full of people, live music all weekend long and such an amazing atmosphere from start to finish 💛

A huge thank you to the brilliant Calypso Duo, Carley Knight and Stu’s Gastric Band for keeping the good vibes going all weekend — we’re so lucky to have such fantastic local talent 🎸✨

It was also amazing to see so many of you getting involved with Open Mic! Whether you got up to perform or came along to support, thank you for making it such a fun evening 🎤

And as always, a massive thank you to Tim & Ian for organising and bringing it all together 👏

Weekends like that are exactly what it’s all about… good people, good music and making memories together 🥰

What a year it has been 💛

Over the last year we’ve laughed, baked, ran, danced, sung, raffled, and come together as a community to raise money for two incredibly special charities — Morgan’s Army and The Old Mill Foundation.

From coffee mornings and Santa runs to family fun days and everything in between, every single event has been filled with kindness, support and community spirit. And this Bank Holiday weekend marked our final fundraising push for Morgan’s Army.

We are so unbelievably proud to say that together we have raised over £4,500 for this fantastic charity 👏✨

To everyone who donated, baked cakes, bought raffle tickets, ran events, gave up their time, performed, volunteered or simply turned up to support us — thank you. Truly. Community is at the heart of everything we do here, and moments like this remind us just how lucky we are to have such wonderful people around us 🥰

A massive thank you also has to go to our incredible staff and volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes to make every single event possible. From setting up and clearing down to serving drinks, organising games, selling raffle tickets and somehow keeping us all on track — we honestly couldn’t have done any of it without you 💛

This may be the end of our fundraising year for Morgan’s Army, but we’re not done just yet…

We’re already looking ahead to our next charity day on the 7th of September as we celebrate the end of our fundraising year with The Old Mill Foundation 💛

And knowing this amazing community… we already know it’s going to be another special one.
