As you've all come to learn, over the last 5 years we've built a brand that's known for being a little bit different.

Well, here's our latest 'a little bit different'.

🍺 Modelo Especial - a Mexican pilsner-style lager first brewed in 1925. We're pretty sure we're the first to serve it on draught in South Wales🍺

🍏Henry Westons Vintage Cider - a proper old fashioned apple medium dry cider🍏

Both are absolutely flying out.

🍔We’re looking for two or three people to join our fun loving Little Briton team this season 🍔

They’ll be taking orders, stocking up and cleaning down…. And with training, and for the right person, maybe rustling up some of our legendary Greek gyros’

Previous experience isn’t necessary but the following certainly are: Common sense, reliability, a great work ethic and can work without constantly checking their mobile phones…….

Start date: as soon as possible.

In return, they’ll join an amazing team and their office will be outside in the sunshine listening to fantastic live music🤞🤞🤞

Looks like we’re in for a heatwave and The Ancient is definitely the place to be.

Bring your deck chairs, bring your picnic blankets and get ready for a day of fun in the sun.

Music kicks off at 2pm with the incredible Jono (formerly of No Direction) and then from 4pm we have Milly and the Bandits who are guaranteed to get you up dancing. When they played here last summer they literally smashed it.

Little Briton opens her hatch at 1pm serving up Welsh raised hand smashed beef burgers, slow braised pulled chicken burgers and authentic Greek gyros. Don’t worry… we share the love for veggies and vegans too 💜💜

Our outside bar will also be open so you’re never far from a cold beer or three.

And if that’s not all, our main bar and kitchen also opens from midday.

We will be busy, so if you can car share we’d love you more than we already do 💕

Feeling optimistic today and made some summery adjustments to our menu.

Here’s just one of our new dishes.

Pan seared salmon sourced fresh from Swansea Fish. Served with baby roasted Pembrokeshire potatoes, sauté asparagus & hollandaise sauce.

Sunday’s Ancient. We’ve something a little special for those booked in for lunch today.

Our roast leg of pork comes from St Fagans National Museum, Cardiff. A taste that takes you back in time before meat was filled with water and mass produced.

Our beef comes from Talybont Farm, Talybont-on-Usk and our turkey from Woolston Farm, Owestry.

We’ve still a few spaces left, so if you haven’t already made plans, make us the place to be this lunch time. Please call 01639 730273, after 11am, to reserve a table.

On our specials today. BBQ Chicken Tenders, sourced from master butcher Paddy Sweeney, Brecon. On a bed of Cajun mac ‘n’ cheese. Served with a fresh side salad.

Our main kitchen is open from 12 noon serving lunch through to 3pm. We then re-open from 5:30pm for evening service.
