Cruise 15
Little Venice to Windsor
After leaving London we headed down the Paddington Arm to join the Grand Union Canal turning right towards Slough and Cowley.
Going up some locks towards Rickmansworth we were told the canal was blocked with a multiple boat fire. We decided to turn around and keep moving and head to Windsor on the Thames as it was going to take a few days to clear.
We arrived at The Hanwell Flight on 8 locks arriving in Brentford. We joined the River Thames at high tide heading upstream towards Teddington, Hampton Court and moored so the guests could visit. Next came Chertsey and Staines. We arrived at Old Windsor Lock travelling passed the Royal ground around Windsor Castle and going under Eton Bridge. We found a lovely mooring by the Baths Island.
Lots of fun and lovely weather for the changed route.

Cruise 14
Thrupp to London via the River Thames

Another great start from Thrupp on the Oxford Canal. Took us a days travel to the Thames where we stayed until we arrived in Little Venice at Paddington, London.
We travelled through Abingdon, Wallingford, Goring, Henley, Windsor then on the tidal Thames from Teddington to Brentford before we were back on the Grand Union Canal where we made our way to Little Venice.
We had some lovely night moorings along the way. Lots of sunshine and had great company on board with us.

Cruise 13
Thrupp to Thrupp via Lechlade

Started this trip at Thrupp on the Oxford Canal and travelled to Dukes Cut where we entered the River Thames. The river was peaceful all the way to Lechlade where we turned and made our way back to Thrupp. Very few of the locks were maned by lock keepers so our guests were kept busy doing the locks. The locks were not wound on this part of the river, they were set by a large wheel on each gate. The countryside was beautiful and the river was very bendy. It kept Vince very busy trying to keep out of the trees.
It was a very happy trip with beautiful weather and great company. A great time was had by all.

Cruise 12
Warwick to Oxford (Thrupp)
We started this cruise in Warwick on the Grand Union Canal and headed through Royal Leamington Spa before we started the climb to the Oxford Canal. We were lucky to share the wide locks with another boat all the way. Water is certainly an issue for us at the moment. We climbed the narrow locks at Napton on the hill before the 11 miles of countryside cruising to start our descent at Clayton. We cruised through Cropredy and were soon in Banbury where guests had a trip to the museum. Carrying on through Kings Sutton, Aynho, Upper Heyford then our final destination for this trip Thrupp.
We had fabulous weather, beautiful countryside and 3 lovely returning guests ladies onboard with us.

Droitwich to Warwick

Another great trip starting on the Droitwich Barge canal onto the Worcestershire and Birmingham canal. Up Tardebigge on our second day in a good time for lunch at the top. We then travelled to Birmingham where we stopped the night and then retraced back to Kings Norton Junction, onto the North Stratford down to Lapworth. Then the Grand Union Canal we had our last flight of our trip down Hatton into one of our favourite moorings at Saltisford. We had a great trip with fantastic weather and beautiful scenery.

Cruise 9
Ellesmere Port to Nantwich
Great trip starting in Ellesmere Port we traveled along the Shroppie to Nantwich then up the flight of 15 locks at Audlem. Few miles out of Ellesmere we were coming up the wide 3 lock staircase coming into Chester centre. We had great help from our guests so we were soon at Bunbury where another staircase consisting of two locks. We travelled through Nantwich to Audlem up to Adderley before turning and then our return to Nantwich. Weather was good most of the time with two owl sightings. Lots of Rummikub in the evenings with much laughter and chatter.
