The site provides accommodation and camping for cubs, guides, scouts, explorer scouts, youth groups and school groups. It is located in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales in the Lumsdale Conservation area of Matlock near Tansley Village. You can camp; hike, do bike rides, climb, cave, canoe, sail, study the varied wild life, play games and most of all have fun.

We are delighted to share with you our renovated toilets. We've had beautiful new flooring (fitted by Luke Thomas of West View Flooring of Tansley), new cubicles built (bespoke by Tom Woodhouse of TW Joinery in Darley Dale) and the plumbing works include new push taps (thanks to Ben the Plumber).

Today we had a working group onsite all day. They did an amazing job with enthusiasm. The bunkhouse has been scrubbed, hedges have been trimmed, a set of steps has been repaired, emergency exits have been cleared and some doors have been painted. What a great day!

Today we have had safety railings fitted to the bunkhouse entranceway. This makes it much safer for the smaller children. Delighted to use a local contractor to do this work.

We have had 2 busy days on site having some electrical work done. We have improved emergency lighting, we have night time lighting, the fans in the kitchen and bathroom now come on with the lights, all appliances have been PAT tested, the fan and lights in the toilet block are now PIR activated. These works have been partly paid for from the Go Fund Me monies raised to improve safety and security around the site. Thank you so much to everyone who supported us. The works were done by local company H Strange and Son.

We are having extensive tree work done today. We have a dead tree which is at risk of falling and 2 ash trees with Ash die back, they all need removing. We have a tree with dead branches over the footpath which need removing. We have a couple of trees which are dangerously close to the power lines which need trimming right back. We also have a tree which is dead and has fallen over which needs moving as it is a risk to the bridge. These works are all around the site so footpaths diversions will be in place at times for the safety of the public. We have been working closely with National Grid who will be on-site all morning. We have all the necessary permissions from the Council. We, of course, have qualified people doing the work for us.
