August is when the heather on Exmoor is at its best and this year it is particularly magnificent. Take a scenic drive over the moor or if you prefer not to go too far then Haddon Hill is just 5mins from the site so no excuses, plenty of paths to take in the splendour of the Exmoor heather.

Car park only 2.5 miles miles from our site or for the more energetic you can walk along quiet country lanes and through St John’s Wood to get to the edge of the lake.
Map, directions and lots of helpful information in reception.
Come and enjoy lots of peaceful walking or one of the activities available on the lake.

With the lovely warm weather are having it’s important to remember affect the heat has on your dogs.
Haddon Hill has it all, get out early before the sun gets too hot with a walk across the top enjoy the views of the mist lying in the valleys below and the refreshing air.
Alternatively, head for one of the woodland areas with lots of shade and water to cool off in, your dogs will thank you for it.🐾🐾
