Sweethay Meadow Lodge

One of the greatest compliments you can receive as a holiday let owner… ✨

When guests book their next stay before they’ve even finished their current one. ❤️

It’s moments like this that reassure us we’re getting things right — creating a place that isn’t just somewhere to stay, but somewhere guests genuinely want to return to.

A huge thank you to Lorna for choosing Sweethay Meadow Lodge for another getaway. We’re already looking forward to welcoming you back! 🏡🐾

It’s the return guests, the recommendations and the little messages that make all the hard work behind the scenes so worthwhile.

Thank you, Lorna Lorna Helen. ❤️

🍂 Autumn is drawing in at Sweethay Meadow Lodge… 🍂

Now that the nesting season is truly over, we’ve taken advantage of the recent good weather to carry on with some much-needed maintenance around the meadow. 🌿

The hedge and scrub clearance is well underway, opening things up, keeping the boundaries tidy and helping us manage the meadow for the seasons ahead.

It’s hard work, but there’s something very satisfying about seeing the difference as we work our way around — and it’s all part of keeping the grounds here at Sweethay Meadow Lodge looking their best for our guests and, of course, the local wildlife. 🐦🦔🌳

With the autumn colours starting to appear, it’s certainly beginning to feel like a different season here at Sweethay. 🍁

🍂 Happy Autumn Equinox from Sweethay Meadow Lodge! 🍂

Today we welcome the official start of autumn — that magical moment when day and night find their perfect balance, and the countryside begins its golden transformation.
Our front door is already dressed for the season with a cheerful wreath of autumn leaves and berries, and the little bay trees are looking their best in the soft September light. There’s a gentle crispness in the air and the promise of cosy evenings ahead.
Hot drinks, twinkling lights, a warm stove and all the lovely traditions that make this time of year so special are just around the corner.
Whether you’re planning a peaceful autumn escape or simply looking forward to cosy evenings at the Lodge, we’d love to welcome you.
Here’s to shorter days, longer nights, and all the joy still to come. ✨

🎉🥂 ONE YEAR OF SWEETHAY MEADOW LODGE! 🥂🎉

Well… where did that year go?! 😍

Today marks one whole year since we welcomed our very first guests to Sweethay Meadow Lodge — and what a first year it’s been! 🏡❤️

What started as a huge renovation project, with plenty of hard work, dust, decisions and the occasional headache 😂, has turned into something we’re incredibly proud of.

Over the past 12 months we’ve welcomed over a hundred guests, lots of four-legged friends 🐾 and families from across the UK, and created so many lovely memories along the way.

We’ve had fantastic reviews, returning guests, plenty of wagging tails… and to top it all off, we were absolutely thrilled to be named the 2026 Holiday Cottages Canine Collection Winner! 🏆🐶

We honestly couldn’t have imagined that when we first opened the doors.

A massive THANK YOU to every single guest who has stayed with us, recommended us, shared our posts, left us a review or simply followed our journey. ❤️

Every booking means a huge amount to us, and seeing people enjoying the lodge, the garden and the meadow makes all those long days of renovation worthwhile.

So here’s to Year One… 🥂

And to plenty more relaxing stays, muddy paws, hot tubs, family time and happy memories at Sweethay Meadow Lodge.

Thank you for being part of our journey. ❤️

"Handmade for you at Sweethay Meadow Lodge"

We’re drawing a new line in guest welcomes… Quite literally.

Sweethay Meadow Lodge now has its very own line‑art welcome cards - a little creative hello waiting for guests the moment they arrive. Clean line art, warm messages, and a paw‑print edition for our four‑legged VIPs. 🐶🐕🐾

It’s the small touches that make a stay feel special, and we’ve loved sketching out this new way to greet guests.

Whether joining us for a serene escape, a celebration, or a tail‑wagging getaway, the welcome is now beautifully in line with the Sweethay experience. 🌹🎈💐

🏆 We’re incredibly proud to officially receive our 2026 Holiday Cottages Showcase Award for the Canine Collection! 🐾

The trophy has arrived, and what a fantastic surprise - it certainly has some weight to it! Now we just need to find the perfect place to display it. 😊

When we set out to create Sweethay Meadow Lodge, we wanted it to be somewhere that every member of the family could enjoy - including our four-legged guests. To have that recognised with a national award is something we’re immensely proud of.

This award belongs just as much to our wonderful guests as it does to us. Thank you to everyone who has stayed with us, supported us and shared such lovely feedback. Your kind words have helped make this possible.

Here’s to welcoming many more families—and plenty of wagging tails—to Sweethay Meadow Lodge. 🏡🐶❤️

🌸 A little more colour has arrived at Sweethay Meadow Lodge… 🌸

We believe it’s the little details that help make a stay that bit more special.

Over the last few days we’ve been refreshing some of our planters with beautiful summer flowers and vibrant succulents to give our guests an even warmer welcome. With the sunshine we’ve been enjoying, they’re looking absolutely stunning and adding a lovely splash of colour around the lodge.

Whether you’re relaxing in the hot tub, enjoying a morning coffee on the patio, or simply taking in the peaceful surroundings of the meadow, we hope these little touches make you feel right at home.

We can’t wait to welcome our next guests! 🌿🌼
