Mine and Holly's fundraising seems to be neck and neck 😁

I've been tackling the walk from the campsite, right up to Cox Tor at quite a brisk pace and going for short runs to help with cardiovascular πŸ‘

WOW, Teylu Theatre Company have raised a staggering amount of money - not surprised though.
It was an incredible performance πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Yes, that's right - Β£7,000. That glorious Sunflower number is the total that the Teylu Theatre Company production of Calendar Girls has raised for our brilliant partner charity, the Plymouth Radiotherapy Development Fund running under the Plymouth Hospitals Charity. This amazing amount of money would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors, advertisers, bakers, lottery prize donators, crocheter/knitters, supporters of all kinds and all of our incredible audiences. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Not quite enough for a new wing but certainly enough to make a little difference to the patient and relatives' experience in the Radiotherapy department at Derriford. Stay tuned to find out where the money goes.

Jane Cornbill ( your Park Assistant who is the face behind the social media posts) is once again doing the Marie Curie 13 Tor Challenge (15 miles) despite saying to her daughter Holly that she wouldn't do it again after we completed it last yearπŸ˜πŸ‘

For any of our visitors who go out 'Tor bagging' , you will know that some of the tors can be challenging πŸ™ˆ. With a start of a three mile climb out of Widecombe village alone, this mammoth hill is a bit of a tester πŸ₯΅

What really drives us on and to get out on the moors practising is when the donations start coming in - it really means so much - behind every great organisation there is a team of volunteers willing to partake in these challenges for a fantastic cause.

If you would like to make a donation, no matter how small, we would be extremely grateful, thank you - the link is at the top of this post.

There's also a collection pot in reception πŸ‘.

Thanks so much. Jane C x

At the beginning of August, we had the pleasure of inviting Mike Sherry, the Fundraising Officer for Dartmoor Search and Rescue Tavistock and Fiona along so that we could hand over a donation of Β£175 collected from the proceeds of selling the little booklet - The Mystery of Spike, the Missing Hedgehog. Tavistock Times were invited too and they did a little write up for us in the local paper.

The story has been captivating people of all ages and is a delight to read.

The authors very generously donate 100% of the proceeds to Dartmoor Search and Rescue Tavistock to buy a tangible piece of equipment e.g. new climbing equipment or replenishing their first aid supplies.

As you can see, Jane C has tweaked two of the photos to include the famous Spike!😁Great to see Jane K in the photo too. It really was a fun and informative morning meeting Mike and Fiona and learning a little bit about how the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team - Tavistock operate.

Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team - Tavistock were very grateful to be the chosen charity and we're delighted that all of the team are included in the story in a different guise! A huge thank you to the authors from us all!

If you want a copy of this story, pop along to Langstone Manor Holiday Park - and have a wander round the park while you're here to see what we're all about.
