❤️🍺 In Loving Memory of Our Dear Taff – Two Years On 🍺❤️
Two years ago today, our dearest Taff spread his wings and headed up to heaven. We can only hope heaven has an endless supply of Guinness waiting for him! 🍻❤️
Working in hospitality, we are lucky enough to meet some truly wonderful people. Some walk through our doors as customers, become regulars, then friends, and eventually become part of our family. Taff was one of those very special people. ❤️
For over 40 years, Taff was a familiar face at The Mary Tavy Inn. He watched the pub change over the decades, welcomed different owners, shared countless stories, enjoyed many pints of Guinness and met thousands of people along the way.
When the doors finally reopened after Covid, Taff was right there, welcoming the new owners with open arms and making them feel at home. From that moment, he became so much more than a customer to us. He became family.
Taff was a truly wonderful man, full of character, kindness and stories. He even made some beautiful things for the pub, which we will forever keep, treasure and proudly display. They are little reminders that although someone may no longer be with us, the memories they leave behind never disappear.
We have a special plaque on the bar in Taff’s memory, alongside photographs of him, so that a little piece of Taff will always remain here at The Mary Tavy Inn. ❤️
A pub is so much more than four walls, food and drink. It’s the people who walk through its doors, the friendships made, the laughter shared and the memories created. Taff was a huge part of our pub’s history, and his memory will always be part of its future.
So today, two years on, we raise a glass to our dear Taff. 🍺
