Rockaway Park

Rockaway Park Rockaway is a creative hub, set in an old quarry scrapyard in Temple Cloud, just south of Bristol. Vegan cafe, rehearsal studio, therapy suites and more!

From scrap to art, music, permaculture, events, inspiration, an Airbnb... and hope! All welcome Over the hills and far away, there lies a place called Rockaway Park. Here – on a stretch of land somewhere between Glastonbury, Bristol and Bath – the homes are handmade, space is abundant and art is king. “It’s like Disneyland meets Scrapheap Challenge,” JaK VICE

Nestled between Glastonbury, Bristol,

and Bath lies Rockaway Park, a unique haven where handmade homes, abundant space, and art thrive. Once a scrapyard, we're transforming daily into a vibrant community. We rent out space for creative endeavors, buy, sell, and rent eclectic items, and offer rooms in our quirky Airbnb house. Our on-site vegan café serves from 12-2 on weekdays, with self-service available anytime. It's perfect for catering, parties, or a casual visit with free entry by donation. We also provide a therapy suite, music rehearsal space, and are crafting a teaching area from reclaimed shipping containers. Join us for Sunday Sessions monthly, featuring vegan roasts, live music, and an alternative market. Explore our Chapel of Unrest for gigs, and visit studios for ethical screen printing, glass blowing, and more. Don't forget to check out the Rockaway shop for merch and our studios and supporters' wares. And mark your calendar for our annual Arts Weekend every September. We can work with you to provide space for your needs including weddings, birthdays, gigs, workshops and more. Stay tuned for updates, and feel free to reach out if you'd like to learn more!

After a sell out workshop the Two Crooked Ladies are back and bringing more ancient crafts.

Join us for a beginners’ workshop in the ancient craft of corn dolly making. Starting at 10:30am for an hour and a half we will make two traditional harvest tokens by weaving an ancient wheat strain and decorating with charms and ribbons.

We will then be holding an intermediate workshop at 1pm for 3 hours where you will make two different flat weave pieces in different styles, traditionally used as house blessings. These pieces are more advanced, so please ensure you have attended the prior workshop or another workshop with us.

Come for one, or join us for both!

✂️ DO IT YOURSELF ✂️

Three days of music, making, conversations, creativity and community with the brilliant

We’ve packed a lot into one weekend...

🎶 Learn a song and perform with Commoners Choir
🎨 Make posters, prints, comics and things that say something
💬 Hear from artists and makers about DIY culture
🎸 Finish Saturday with live music from , , and a Johnny Hannah DJ set

This weekend is all about having a go, making things happen and remembering that creativity belongs to everyone.

You don’t need to be an artist. You don’t need to be a singer. You don’t need to know what you’re doing.

That’s kind of the point.

We’ve kept tickets as affordable as possible because we want people to actually be able to come along, try something new and be part of it.

Most workshops are just £5 and the Saturday night gig is £15.

Every ticket helps us support the artists, musicians and people making these things happen, while keeping events like this accessible.

📍 Rockaway Park, Temple Cloud
📅 26, 27 & 28 June

Come make something, learn something, shout about something, or just spend a weekend surrounded by good people doing interesting things

Tickets available now 🔗 in bio including camping info.

🌿 Another hot and busy week in the Rockaway garden! 🌞

There’s been lots going on with plenty of weeding, watering, cutting back the grass and clearing paths to keep everything growing.

Innes and Myk have been doing more work on the terraces at the top which are looking amazing, while Amelia and Anna have been helping with weeding and path clearing. Zak has done a brilliant job barrowing all the clippings and weeds down to the bottom, and Carl has been busy keeping the veg patch watered and cared for 🌱

We’re ramping up veg production this year too! Our existing beds have been revamped using our neighbour’s horse manure and we’ve added some new beds on the slope, perfect for pumpkins and squashes.

The onions planted back in autumn are doing well, and the sweetcorn and brassicas are thriving now the warmer weather has arrived (although they’ve needed plenty of watering during the heatwave!).

With the addition of our new greenhouse, we’re trying out some Mediterranean favourites including bell peppers, chillies, aubergines, cucamelons and tomatoes. The tomatoes have been grown from seeds saved from last year’s donation from Dial House, so you’ll soon be able to sample Crass tomatoes when you visit our café 🍅

All the clearing work from the winter is really starting to pay off now. There are loads of gorgeous flowers and plants coming up through the grass, in the borders and on the banks below the house. Keep an eye out for the Acanthus mollis (bear’s breeches) that Amelia and I have recently planted on the lower bank.

The pond is absolutely full of life too, with loads of dragonflies, damselflies and plenty of other little creatures we don’t know the names of! It’s lovely to see how much it’s changed now there’s more shade and more plants and flowers growing around it 🐝

If you’d like to get involved in the garden, come and join us. You don’t need to be an expert, just happy to get stuck in.

🌱 Volunteer days are every Monday and Wednesday.
