“Pubs are too expensive.”
Usually said by someone holding a £6 coffee, scrolling TikTok on a £1,200 phone, while questioning a £6 pint. 😅
Here’s the thing…
You’re not paying £6 for beer. 🍺
You’re helping pay for:
💡 The lights.
🔥 The heating.
🧼 The clean loos.
🍷 The washed glasses.
👥 The staff.
📋 The licences, insurance, rates and tax.
💳 The card fees every time you tap.
🌊 And the landlord in wellies when the cellar floods at 11pm.
But more than that, you’re paying for something that’s getting harder to find: community. ❤️
Pubs aren’t selling beer.
They’re selling first dates that became marriages, celebrations, reunions, wakes, friendships, and those “just one pint” nights that become legendary.
It’s one of the few places left where you can spend an evening with friends and nobody asks you to leave.
If you want cheap, stay home with a four-pack.
But don’t confuse low cost with value. 🍻
The British pub is more than a pint. It’s a place to belong.
