A little life update from us π€.
Sometimes life doesn't just change your plans - it stops them completely.
If you've been wondering why we've been a little quieter on here this year, it's because there's been a lot going on behind the scenes.
The last six months have been some of the hardest we've experienced as a family, and at times we've simply needed to step away from social media and this place to focus on what really matters and work through some difficult decisions about our future here at the Lodge.
The slides share a little more about what's been happening and why this place means so much to us.
We're also incredibly aware of the privilege we have to call the Lodge our home, especially when so many people around the world are facing unimaginable loss, displacement and suffering. Our situation is very different, and we never want to lose sight of that.
If anything, it's only strengthened our belief that places which bring people together are needed now more than ever. Spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with nature, share nourishing food around a table and leave feeling a lighter and more connected than when they arrived. In a world that often feels full of division, we want the Lodge to be a place rooted in connection, kindness and community.
Not everyone shares that vision, and that's been hard to come to terms with. But we still believe in it with our whole hearts. We will appeal the planning decision and in the meantime we will still be running a small number of retreats here and of course you can still come and stay in the cabins.
Thank you for sticking with us while we've been quieter. We don't have all the answers yet, but we're choosing to trust that this is leading us somewhere we're meant to be, even if we can't quite see it yet. Ffi & Ollie xx π€
