IMPORTANT NOTICE! Please can you share with any of your friends and family that may be staying with us in July or August. We are desperately trying to contact people individually, but it’s been time consuming and we are still going through so many bookings 😢

Dear Guest,

This is Mandy from the Thorverton Arms.

We are contacting you to ensure that you have been informed that our business is currently closed temporarily due to the collapse of the cob wall of the building. Unfortunately, this situation is beyond our control, as we lease the premises from Stonegate.

If you made your booking through Booking.com, you should have already been notified. However, we wanted to reach out directly to avoid any unnecessary travel or inconvenience.

As we are unable to operate at this time—and due to our business not trading, has resulted in our booking accounts being closed—we kindly ask that you cancel your reservation yourself via your booking provider to avoid any potential charges.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding during this difficult time. At present, we do not have a confirmed reopening date, but we very much hope to welcome you in the future.

Update on the Arms to avoid hearsay….This is the current status of the interior/exterior of the pub. We have not been given any further timescales since the parish council meeting. We are not builders, so have no knowledge of the process.
We have our lease until August 2027 and we have no intentions of breaking lease. There is a lot of speculation about the long term future of the Arms. We have been told clearly that the pub is going to be fixed and will reopen as soon as possible. Hope this helps.

We do apologise to everyone that has bed & breakfast with us over the next 6 months. The booking on system that we have doesn’t allow us to bulk cancel, as we are signed up to so many reservations platforms. We are currently informing people one by one and this is time consuming.

Anyone that has families or friends staying with us, please could you let them know while we are busy working through our bookings. Thank you so much. We hope to see them again in the future💜

Just to bring you up to speed with the current situation. We are now advised that we cannot operate The thorverton Arms until further notice due to the cob wall adjacent to school lane.
The brewery are still investigating the cause of the damage and will advise us accordingly.
Steve and I are being advised by the owner and landlord of the property and soon as we get any further information we will share it with all of you.

It is with regret that the Thorverton Arms will be closed until further notice.
The gable end is at risk and collapsing. As tenants Stonegate, are dealing with the situation and supporting us. School lane is about to be closed, so please feel free to use our car park and be advised by the school about alternative route to collect your children. Sincere apologies.
