We are absolutely delighted to share the news that The Grain Store Restaurant will be re-opening this weekend 🥳

Being closed for the nearly the first three months of the year was a bit of a blow after such a fantastic start to the restaurant at the end of 2025. However, with the very real issue of cold air blowing into the space we knew it had to be addressed sooner rather than later.

Working with the fabulous team at Construction, along with other insulation experts, a plan of action was created. It was really disheartening in January to be taking out the furniture, taking down the chandeliers and for the joiners to be ripping out all the work they had just completed, but we knew it had to be done.

And we are so glad we did. The difference in the building is incredible - no more are we fretting over the wind and cold draughts; the atrium doors can be left open; the throws can go away; it is warm!

From Thursday 19th March we are open and delighted to serve you delicious lunches and dinners in The Grain Store Restaurant, once again.

Our While We Wait pop-up coffee shop was a tremendous hit and kept our small team busy. Although we will close it for the next few weeks, don't worry it will return.....

We will still have Stannergill Blend coffee, & Blend Tea, scones and cakes available either side of lunch.

After a few extra touches, we are now open for bookings for 2026. Why not treat yourself to a last minute break and take advantage of our special deals in February and March. Enjoy the beautiful nature of Caithness in the Far North. Take a day trip to Orkney, or maybe enjoy a round of golf on one of the many nearby courses? Or a stroll along one of our majestic beaches, after visiting one of the many historical sights Caithness has to offer? And maybe round of your trip by visiting one of many award winning restaurants, after a tour of one of the many local distilleries?
