You may well have seen mention in the media recently of the partial Solar eclipse which will take place this coming Wednesday. If you are hoping to view this eclipse, our planned viewing session may well interest you. See poster below for details.

We have not yet decided where we will go to view the eclipse as this will depend on the cloud cover (or hopefully lack of it 😉). From one side of the county to the other or an inland spot could make all the difference, so we will add a post on Tuesday evening to let folk know where we have chosen to set up and hopefully you will be able to join us.

If you're heading over to Orkney in July, this would be worth a visit.

🪏 Archaeologists are back at the Ness of Brodgar in Orkney today, hoping to uncover more secrets at this incredible site.

🤯 A mysterious circular feature was found during survey work in 2025. Now, the Time Team-led dig will spend three weeks investigating the intriguing feature.

🟢 The dig will be open to the public on weekdays until 30 July, with free tours at 1100 and 1430.

(Visitors are reminded that the rest of site will remain covered during this new exploratory excavation.)

Beginning Monday 15th June we will be extending the opening times of The Store Bistro & Bar - Bettyhill.

Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday

Food will be served 9am - 7pm. We will then stay open until 8pm these days.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday no change to hours.

Our menu will be available to dine in or take away
