The home of old-fashioned Highland Hospitality...
The Castletown Hotel was formerly the St Clair Arms Hotel Caithness which was bought in June 2007 by Andrew and Sandy Mackay, two local brothers. Nestled in the heart of the picturesque fishing village of Castletown, our family-run hotel is perfect for exploring Caithness. With quality, affordable accommodation and first class food... we're sure to
have you covered! We may be a small hotel but we have something for all, whether it be an over night stay on your way to Orkney or a weeks break from the hustle and bustle. Sandy's skills really come to the fore in the kitchen and he produces delicious home cooked fayre. He prides himself in using local produce where possible for his dishes to ensure quality and freshness. Being an ex-butcher, Sandy really understands meat. He buys our Aberdeen Angus from our cousin Willie Mackay’s farm in Ackergill, Caithness and prepares it for our guests to enjoy. Specialising in traditional Scottish and British cuisine, the on-site restaurant has garnered an impressive local reputation for its delicious cuisine. Committed to using locally sourced produce wherever possible, there is a strong emphasis on creating quality home-cooked food fresh from the natural larder that is the Scottish Highlands. With its spectacular location and great facilities, the Castletown Hotel is an ideal venue for hosting a wide range of events and functions. Perfect for small parties such as wedding anniversaries, birthday celebrations and family gatherings, the Hotel can supply a tailor made menu to suit all palates and budgets.
