Did you know that Witold Retinger a fighter pilot of the Polish Air Force in WWII and commander of No. 308 Squadron was the nephew of Józef Retinger, one of the most influential Polish political strategists of the 20th century and founder of the Bilderberg Group?

Witold Retinger was born in 1918 in Wiener Neustadt and trained at the Polish Air Force Academy in Dęblin. After fighting in France in 1940, he reached Britain and joined the RAF, flying Hurricanes and Spitfires in No. 308, 303, and 309 Squadrons.
He became a squadron commander in 1944 and achieved four confirmed aerial victories against Messerschmitt Bf 109s.
His decorations included the Silver Cross of the Virtuti Militari, three Crosses of Valour, three Air Medals, and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Meanwhile, his uncle Józef Retinger was shaping the political landscape of post‑war Europe a key adviser to the Polish government-in-exile, organiser of special operations, and later one of the founders of the Bilderberg Group.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Flight Sergeant Helen Crawford.

Helen joined the Royal Air Force as a nurse in 2000, and has served with distinction across numerous RAF stations, MOD Hospital Units and undertaken several operational deployments during her incredible career.

The loss of Helen brings immense heartbreak to all her friends and family by whom she will be remembered and dearly loved forever.

Our thoughts and condolences are with her loved ones during this difficult time.

Last week, three of our veterans who sailed with Skipper Chris achieved their RYA Competent Crew qualification.

It was a particularly busy week and we didn’t get the chance to recognise their achievement, but this is absolutely something to celebrate! So, a belated congratulations to all three! A fantastic achievement well deserved🎉
