A lot of you will have seen Greg around the farm, but for those who haven’t, here’s a proper introduction.

Greg (or Gregory, according to my Mum if he’s being annoying) is her son, right-hand man, and a big part of what keeps Crossgate ticking over.

His job description includes (but are definitely not limited to):

🐔 Catching chickens
🍺 Working behind the bar
🍕 Quality-controlling the food
🚜 Topping, mowing and making silage
🐄 Looking after the cows
🐐 Building obstacle courses for the goats
🔨 Fixing pretty much anything that breaks
🛒 Doing the inevitable last-minute shop run

Basically, if something needs building, fixing, feeding, moving, mowing, fetching or catching, Greg is usually the man for the job.

He’s always there when we need a hand and, in my opinion, is probably the funniest person on the farm too. 😉

🍕 Right then… what are we thinking? 👀

Our stone-baked pizzas have been flying out lately, and we’re seriously considering serving them all day instead of just evenings! 🔥🍕

Would you like to see pizzas available from lunchtime right through until the evening?

We’ve also been busy working on a brand new pizza menu, which will be landing later this week! 😍

More choice, more pizza, and even more reasons to grab a seat, enjoy the view and tuck in. 🍕🍺🌄

Let us know what you’d like to see on the new menu and whether all-day pizzas get your vote! 👇

Three Generations, One Farm ❤️

Pictured here are three generations of women who have each played a part in shaping Crossgate into what it is today.

On the right is my Grandma, Dorothy. Alongside my Grandad, Barrie, she helped build the Cow Shed with their own hands back in 1966. What started as a working farm all those years ago laid the foundations for everything we have today.

In the middle is my Mum, Deborah. When farming became increasingly difficult and diversification became a necessity rather than a choice, she had the vision, determination and hard work to design and develop Crossgate Campsite and The Cow Shed into what they are today. Anyone who knows her knows just how much blood, sweat and tears have gone into making it happen!

And on the left is me, Libby – menu planner, menu developer, occasional problem solver, general helper, and professional “can you just do this while you’re here?” person! 😂

Crossgate isn’t a big company run by strangers. It’s a family business built over generations, with each generation adding their own chapter to the story. From building farm sheds by hand, to creating a campsite and events venue, to helping develop what’s next, we’re incredibly proud of our roots.

Here’s to the past, the present, and hopefully many more years of Crossgate to come. ❤️🐄🏕️

Three generations. One farm. One family story. ✨
