Visited the Tiverton Museum Of Mid-Devon Life today. A picture is shown of one of the old steam engines (Collett 0.4.2T) which at one time served Bampton. Very interesting.

I cannot express how much we love our holiday home, Elizabeth House in Bampton. We were very lucky to get 3 nights to spend at the end of August there, and it looks like we are back in October during half term, enjoying Bampton, Devon, fair!

Information about Bampton Charter Fair, Devon, which takes place on the last Thursday in October. The charter was granted in 1258.

If you haven't explored Bampton on foot yet, you're missing out.

The town itself is a lovely wander, and the wider area has some seriously good walking country too, from town history trails to longer routes out into the surrounding countryside.

The best place to start is Bampton Heritage & Visitor Centre who have walk books and run regular guided walks throughout the year. Well worth a visit before you head out.
