Kilfinichen Estate is on the beautiful Ardmeanach Peninsula on the Isle of Mull, and is a
family run, rural highland estate that combines traditional farming and forestry
activities with an increasingly diverse hospitality business focussed on delivering high
standard holiday lets, responsible tourism, and retail/hospitality opportunities.
We are looking for seasonal Housekeeper(s) and Grounds / Maintenance personnel.
We welcome applications from individuals or from a couple / or 2-person team. You
will join our small friendly and established team in presenting and maintaining our
properties to our expected high standards throughout the busy holiday season, initially,
March to October with possible ongoing opportunities. A full UK driving licence is
essential to both roles.
Key responsibilities: Housekeeping - Holiday Lets:
Organising and undertaking all aspects of housekeeping necessary to ensure the
correct and proper turnaround of all holiday lettings, on a weekly basis. This is a highly
active role, requiring our properties to be turned around on a time limited basis, whilst
still maintaining attention to details for our guests.
To be responsible for updating guest welcome books on a weekly basis, (H&S checks).
(Linens – no linens are cleaned / handled in house as we use a laundry service, so only
bed / linen changing is required).
To monitor stocks of all housekeeping and hospitality products, requesting items as
necessary.
Monthly electric readings.
Ensuring the correct maintenance, care and use of all housekeeping vehicles, kit and
equipment. Must be prepared to drive an electric L2 van.
Reporting property maintenance issues to the appropriate person.
Assisting the Head Housekeeper with extended housekeeping and hospitality
provisions during family stays and for specific group bookings.
Cooking / serving would be an advantage, although not a weekly requirement, just from
time to time when the family visit and during September / October when the estate is
particularly busy.
Key responsibilities: Grounds / Maintenance role:
To undertake all seasonal grass cutting / strimming and groundsman/maintenance
works to ensure the external presentation of the properties are to a high standard.
Assist the housekeeping team with property turnarounds to ensure they are ready for
guest use i.e. small maintenance issues, regular water filtration checks/changes,
(training will be given), external property checks, external furniture care, wood stores
and other seasonal property requirements.
To be responsible for the proper care and use of vehicles, kit and equipment. Must be
prepared to drive an electric L2 van.
Assisting with collections and deliveries and other driving duties.
Assist with guest emergency call out situations.
These are full time positions, Friday & weekend working is essential to this role – no
exceptions, with 2 consecutive days off given during the week, (generally Tuesday &
Wednesday).
Private accommodation is provided with these positions. Salary will be dependent on
skills and experience.
References essential. Due to locations of our properties, you must be a driver(s) and be
willing to use your own vehicle at times and be competent in driving small commercial /
L2 electric vans.
You will be joining the estate at an exciting time with possible continuing employment
opportunities. If these positions are of interest, then we look forward to receiving your
CV with a covering letter detailing why you are interested in this position.
