It’s been a while so apologies for that - We’ve just had so much to do and not enough hours in the day, you know how it is! But, today we went for a brisk walk with the doggies and just loved the storm brewing over the loch so had to share it with you here.
We are getting quieter now after a lovely busy summer welcoming everyone to the cottages, rooms and the amazing newly located shop and tasting rooms for Whitetail Gin at Tiroran House (they’ve been a marvellous success story in themselves alongside the cafe foods and artisan shop)
Watch this space for 2022!

HAPPY EASTER from glorious Mull - we can’t believe that this is the 2nd Easter in a row and one of only 2 we have not been open for since 2004 & to welcome everyone to Tiroran - the weather couldn’t be more lovely and yesterday we made a lovely thirst quencher after giving the lawns their first cut - WHEN we re open, and as usual, every property will receive a little Whitetail Gin welcome gift hamper and every freezer is filled with ice -maybe you can try this!?
25ml whitetail gin (we did 50ml!)
200ml fever free elderflower tonic
30ml cranberry juice
Large copa glass filled with ice and pink grapefruit

I mean - can we all believe that this was exactly one year ago today Whitetail Gin Tiroran Country House Accommodation & Estate with love to you all - what a year ....
Dear Friends (shared from Tiroran House page but we will be posting something every day here too!)
This is a difficult time for everyone, and as we write this post, there is great worry everywhere – but we wish every single person that we know a safe and healthy peace over the coming weeks and just wanted you to know that we are thinking of you .
We have closely monitored Covid-19 – and have worked together with our sister company Whitetail Spirits Limited over the last few weeks to turn any production at the distillery into production of sanitiser to protect our small community of islands.
Of course we must all now lockdown as best we can, take care of ourselves, stay at home (which should be everyone’s very best and safest place on earth) for as long as it takes to protect our NHS workers and frontline people who all take such selfless decisions every day to help our lives stay as normal as possible.
When it is normal to do so, we will look forward to welcoming our guests back to Tiroran House and cottages and throwing open the doors of our distillery and café shop and seeing familiar and new faces once again.
Meantime, nature is a wonderful thing and life goes on for bees, budding plants, nesting birds and general spring time joy.
We shall start to post pictures of all the beauty around us and we will not forget how lucky we and our doggies are, but, most of all, we shall look forward to welcoming everyone back when it is absolutely safe to do so.

Beautifully presented holiday properties at Tiroran House
Singles, couples, families, friend groups, children - and dogs welcome.
Oozing character and charm on a 60 acre estate, centrally located on the Isle of Mull - Set in fabulous loch side grounds with manicured lawns, a tumbling burn runing through the entire gardens and a large private beach (2 moorings) Lovely Whitetail Gin and its distillery are located on the estate and we have a cafe and shop open every day between 12-7 pm. Less than one hour to Tobermory and Iona.
Wonderfully furnished and presented self catering holiday homes with stunning views, large and homely public rooms, comfortable beds and gorgeous White Company linens, towels, dressing gowns and toiletries. Attention to detail is easy for us as hosts who’ve been taking care of guests at Tiroran since 2004. Unlike some larger estates, we are happy for all our guests to discover the private grounds and gardens to their hearts content.
THE STEADINGS - 5 BEDROOMS - 3 ensuite bedrooms (2 superking 1 x double) 2 further bedrooms with shared bathroom - A lovely large get together house, wonderfully equipped entertaining kitchen with central bar/island and vaulted ceilinged drawing room with mezzanine gallery, 2 staircases (one spiral) and stunning loch views, 2 private terraces and super large TV! Aga, extra oven and ceramic hob, dishwasher, separate laundry, wood-burning stove, stone entrance and lovely finishing touches. (Can be rented along with the Old Byre for larger numbers.
THE OLD BYRE – 3 x BEDROOMS - king, twin and double - Part of the Steadings property with private entrance and good sized enclosed gravelled and grassy bank garden – 3 bedrooms – one twin, one king & one double. A large family bathroom with bath and hand shower upstairs. Large kitchen/dining room with cooker, hob, integrated dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer – An adjoining and comfy living room, small downstairs cloakroom/shower (clothes dryer) – Easy parking alongside the steps leading to the cottage and easy access to the main gardens and beach. Adjacent to the distillery cafe and shop as well as Laurence and Katie’s (owners) home.
WOODLAND COTTAGE – 2 x BEDROOMS (superking/twin + single with room for an extra single z-bed) A delightful central cottage location for direct access to the grounds of Tiroran and fabulous views from every window - elevated and overlooking the grounds, loch and hills – Lovely living, dining and kitchen space, king bedroom and large walk in shower room. Outside seating and parking are extremely convenient. This is a super space for a couple, young family or 3 adults and all the charm of this stone built Victorian cottage has been upgraded over 2020.
GARDENER’S COTTAGE – 1 x BEDROOM (superking/twin) Really lovely and neatly formed single storey cottage, so comfortable and quaint with ample space for a couple, single or 2 friends. Space for a cot (we can provide) Parking directly outside, large entrance porch, open plan living, kitchen and dining space, superking/twin bedroom and separate walk in shower room. Just gorgeous.
