This week we said our last goodbyes to our gorgeous Thomas 🐾 and we are absolutely heartbroken! ❤️‍🩹💔

Thomas was the most wonderful four legged family member we could ever have wished for... A real gentle giant, human in so many ways and so full of character. I cannot tell you how much I loved him - the most loyal companion and our bestest friend! 🐾🐶❤️

The house doesn’t feel the same without him! But what a privilege and honour to have had him in our lives and to call him ours!

Well, it seems my husband was right after all… 🙄😂

Last week I was still clinging onto summer while he was busy stacking logs and preparing for winter! 🪵🔥

But the weather has definitely turned, and even I have to admit that the summer wreath and the winter log pile aren’t exactly working together! 😆

So the seasonal identity crisis is officially over… the summer wreath has gone and autumn has finally arrived at our front door! 🍂🤎

I held out as long as I could! 😂

There are definitely two types of people in our house… 😆

Me: still clinging onto summer with the summer wreath firmly on the door ☀️🌿
My husband: already stacking logs and preparing for the colder days ahead 🪵🔥

But looking at this, I’m starting to think he might have a point… 😂

Maybe it’s finally time I followed suit and admitted autumn has arrived. 🍂

That wreath might have to be changed! … 👀

Maybe Cornwall really is at its best when summer leaves… 🍂🤎

✔️Quiet beaches, 🏝️🌊
✔️muddy walks, 🥾🐶
✔️cosy pubs, 🍺🍷
✔️fireside lunches, 🦞🔥
✔️crisp sea air and 🌊⚓️
✔️villages that suddenly feel like they belong to the locals again.🏡🥰

No crowds. No rushing. Just Cornwall at a slower pace.

Very possibly our favourite season. 🤎🍂

Think Cornwall is just for summer?
Think again! 🍂🌊

Maybe Cornwall is at its best when summer leaves… 🍂

We think so and here are 10 reasons why:

1 Empty streets 🏡
When Cornwall slows down… the streets are quiet and so peaceful!

2. Empty beaches 🌊🏝️
Quieter. Wilder. Just as beautiful. And so refreshing!

3. Brisk coastal walks with sea air
Fresh air. Big skies. Cold noses. 🌊👃

4. Ocean views 🌊🐟🐬
Sea air, tides lapping, sound of the sea and all right in front of you!

5. Cosy pubs lunches 🦞🦀🥧🥩🥗
Long lunches, games of cards, open fires, no rush

6. Happy dogs 🐶🐾🥰
It’s a holiday for our four legged family too

7. Drinks by the sea 🍻🍷🍾🥂🌊
Because a drink tastes better with a sea view

8. Slow mornings and coffee ☕️❤️
A time for a slower pace, and a coffee to go with it

9. The wild and beautiful weather 🍁🍂💨🌦️
There’s something so magical about autumn weather, wrapped up all warm

Everything Horse Magazine is just brilliant!! We love it 👌🏻👏🏻🥰 and feel so excited that one of our children is featured in it!!!! SO exciting!

How long do other people spend planning their wood panelling designs? Me? Ages!! 😆😆 I mean not hours and hours but a long time!! It has to be right doesn’t it!

And just when we think we’ve got the right design something pops up that won’t work…. A light switch, plug socket, furniture layout. With this design we realised the light switches and plug sockets weren’t quite central in the left panel and so our wonderful electrician is going to move them over a couple of cm’s’😆

But if you take your time it’s so worth it isn’t it!
