There is SO much to do in and around Torquay. Both of these castles, Compton Castle and Berry Pomeroy Castle, are less than a 20 minute drive from us.

I've just made a couple of laminated maps for my guests to borrow if they have an hour or so to spare and want to fit in a little bit of extra sightseeing. We're lucky to be only a five minute walk from Abbey Park, which lies between the sea front and Torre Abbey. This morning I spotted a grey heron in the pond there. I think it makes the pond look even more exotic than usual! :)

Here's my ground floor superking/twin room. I always put fresh flowers and a small bowl of fruit in the rooms ready for my guests' arrival. I think it makes the rooms feel really welcoming :)

Now that the weather is warming up, it's lovely to take a cup of tea outside and drink it while watching the goldfish in the guest garden.
