"My golden girl and I have stayed at Pentref in the ‘Shire’ Shepherd’s Hut twice now. Julia and Jon are lovely hosts, and on both occasions, the hut has been a cosy, comfortable and welcoming space, with all the essentials provided for a great time away.

The shared facilities, such as the kitchen and showers, are very well managed and incredibly clean. The Chicken Shack is a great place to sit and chat in the evening, with games and a log burner in situ.

Pentref is also in such a great location — an easy 20-minute drive from Aberystwyth and only 45 minutes from New Quay. There is so much to do and explore, but if you wanted to spend a few quiet days luxuriously camping, with no light pollution and the sounds of nature for company, it wouldn’t be a bad call!

As a truly dog-friendly stay, with a fully secure space, we’ll definitely be back."

“Excellent host, very friendly and welcoming.
The campsite was superb, beautifully equipped with many lovely little touches, going above and beyond.
Everything was spotlessly clean and we had everything we would ever need for a lovely few days away.

This is a perfect place for peace and quiet and especially welcoming to dogs, where they are made to feel very welcome indeed.
The weather was a little wet, but there was plenty of space in our tent for two of us plus two dogs to relax after walking along the Welsh Coastal Path.
Could not recommend this place highly enough and will definitely return.

Thanks for a great stay. Best campsite we’ve been to in a very long time and a massive thank you from Penny and Tamsin! [the dogs 🐾🐾]”
