We are central for meeting up and staying with friends from North, South, West, East. Perfectly situated to rest and break a long
journey. Close to Keele University. For business people we offer a quiet, private and comfortable alternative to hotels. Within a short walk to Trentham Gardens and drive to the Monkey Park. Close to the Staffordshire Moorlands and the Peak District for the excellent scenery, walking and cycling on the many trails. We have some excellent museums too as well as the pot banks we are famous for- Middleport Pottery, Wedgwood’s, Moorcroft etc
Note: Before you get entranced by our property please let me point out we do not accept children under the age of 7 Years. No pets and No smoking on site. No stags, hen parties or similar. People with limited mobility may struggle with the access steps to the flat. The Old Watermill sleeps a maximum 5 people - set over 2 floors (accessed by external steps to 1st and 2nd levels). This former water mill on the old family farm, has been lovingly converted to create a family home. Set back from the road and surrounded by gardens, lawns, fruit trees and our vegetable areas we consider ourselves a little oasis. That said we are close to all the amenities you should require. Shops and pubs close by within walking distance. The property has a river running through it and we also have a stream, pond and Well hence care must be taken with younger children. The owners live on site and nearby (in the former cowshed). Your accommodation in Old Watermill is private with it’s own entrance. The flat at Old Watermill comprises of entrance hallway with stairs up to (2nd floor) 2 bedrooms accessed off the landing. (Bed linen provided)
Front bedroom - king size bed; rear bedroom - double and single bed. Both bedrooms are light and airy with velux windows.
1st floor level has an open plan sitting, dining and fully equipped kitchen area. We supply the basics - tea, coffee, salt, pepper, cooking oil etc along with milk, bread, biscuits / home made cake for your arrival. Also on this level is the bathroom (wc, bath and shower- towels provided). Windows on 3 sides and the sitting area has a Juliet balcony with French doors opening to look over the driveway to the pond, stream and ‘field’ area. For the colder months we have a woodburner to keep you extra cosy. Parking for 2-3 cars. If you are feeling stressed or just want to get away from it all, our aim is for Old Watermill to be your home from home - a fantastic place to unwind, relax and rediscover a sense of peace and wellbeing.
