My passion for travel developed when my family emigrated to New Zealand. I began my career in travel over 15 years ago and became the long-haul and cruise specialist before moving to become Assistant Manager at an independent agency. In 2000 I won the Kuoni ‘Long-haul Consultant of the Year’ award and was runner-up at the Advanced Level in 2003. I have always been keen to expand my knowledge, and have completed a number of industry recognised courses including the New Zealand and Canadian specialist training. I have travelled extensively to many worldwide and European destinations including USA, Cuba, Antigua, Jamaica, Malaysia, Borneo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Greece, Turkey and Italy, although my two favourite places are New Zealand and Canada. I began my career over 30 years ago when, after studying a college course which included travel and tourism, I joined a small independent agency. Here I gained the majority of my travel qualifications, but more importantly my enthusiasm for the industry. Following a move to another independent agency I became manager of a small but successful department. Having a real zest for travel, I have experience of some wonderful places in the world. My real passion is Africa, where I have first-hand knowledge of Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. One of my favourite places closer to home is Italy where I revisited the historic city of Rome and discovered the secret jewel of the Italian Lakes, Iseo. I have recently returned from an amazing holiday exploring Australia, and have now become an Aussie Specialist. Michelle Holt

It was over 34 years ago that I was very fortunate to be offered a junior position in a family-owned travel agency after leaving sixth form. I completed all my training and progressed to become Assistant Manager before moving on to work for two further independent agencies. During my career I have benefited greatly from the opportunity to visit some wonderful destinations including the Far East, USA, South Africa, the Middle East, Sicily, Greece and British Columbia in Canada where I found the wildlife to be totally breath-taking. I have recently returned from the beautiful Indian Ocean Islands of Mauritius and Sri Lanka, however two of my other favourite beach destinations are the Caribbean Islands of Antigua and Turks & Caicos.
