Higher Trewithen Holiday Cottages is owned and run by Simon and Maria Millen, who live on site with their 4 children and an ever increasing menagerie of rare breed farm animals and pets.

Evidence of a Midnight Ride?🧚🌙

It's said that finding these tightly-woven wind plaits in your horse's mane is a sign that the fairies have been out playing.

The stories say that mischievous fairies sneak into the stables after dark, choose a magnificent steed, (Smoky is pretty magnificent) and carefully tie the horse's mane into little loops to use as stirrups for their midnight gallops! 🐎

The knots are so intricate, and well tied, they take an absolute age to brush out!

Smoky might be a little tired after hosting a night race which explains why he's trying to raid my feed bins! 😉

I really hate Online Travel Agents!

I always like to give our regular guests, and people that come to us directly, first dibs on dates BEFORE I open up the calendar to everyone else on sites like booking.vom

But now, they've changed the way their calendar communicates with ours and are essentially forcing me to open-up availability on their website at the same time as I open up availability on our website, by filling our calendar with £0.00 ghost bookings, preventing a genuine booking from coming in!

I now have 6 months worth of 1 night "ghost bookings" to delete from our booking system for all 6 properties!

I have to manually open each individual 1 night booking, delete it, then confirm I want to delete it for each day if January, February, March, April, May and June, for ALL 6 PROPERTIES!

Thank you to one of our lovely new guests for bringing this to my attention!

If you're trying to book with us at trewithen.com and having trouble, give me a shout and I'll jump on it to see if I can fix it ASAP for you.

Hopefully, Anytime Booking can come up with a more speedy way to fix this calendar integration 🍆 up for me. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
