Lynwood House has been a bed and breakfast for many years and was taken over by Abigail and Jeremy Merrick in 2008. All bedrooms are en suite, three with just a shower and one with a shower and separate bath. Some rooms have a view over looking the valley and some over looking the garden. The bedrooms are modestly decorated with country cottons and are carpeted throughout. Each room has Wifi, a te

levision with Freeview and DVD player, hair dryers, selections of teas and coffee and mini fridges for your fresh milk, they are furnished with your comfort in mind. A delicious breakfast will be served in the dining room between 8am - 9am each morning (Abigail is a Leith's trained chef). For evening meals there are some excellent pubs locally, one in walking distance and others only a few minutes drive away. You are most welcome to enjoy the garden during the day and sit on the sunny terrace with your tea or coffee. Lynwood House is situated near the Fal river at the very edge of Tregony village. Historically, Tregony is known as the 'gateway to the Roseland'. The river is a popular place for bird watchers and there are some lovely riverside and woodland walks in the area. Well known for its countryside and quiet beaches, the peninsula has impressive coastal and river scenery and picturesque villages. Ultimately this road reaches the sea and St Mawes, a one time fishing village which is now a picturesque little harbour full of sailing boats. There are boat trips to various destinations and a passenger ferry that crosses regularly to Falmouth on the other side of the Fal estuary. Apart from enjoying the wonderful countryside, swimming in the pretty coves and lazing on the local beaches there is lots to do in Cornwall. The well known surfing beaches on the north coast are not far from Tregony you can ride, bike, picnic, explore and above all relax. 🌘 Two weeks to go until the Falmouth Week Air Display and a 95% partial solar eclipse, both happening on Wednesday 12th August. Here's what you need to know before the big day. 👇

ℹ️ Getting here:
🚉 Take the Maritime Line, a twice hourly rail service between Truro and Falmouth. All trains will terminate at Falmouth Docks as the Falmouth Town Station will be CLOSED for the day.
🚌 Regular bus services connect Falmouth with Truro, Redruth, Camborne, Helston, Penryn, Flushing and beyond. Local town shuttle services also operate throughout Falmouth.
🅿️ Church Street car park will be closed for the duration of Falmouth Week but there are plenty of alternative public car parks across town.
🚧 A number of town centre roads will be closed at various times throughout Falmouth Week. Please plan ahead if travelling by car.

🛩️ On the day:
⛵ A vessel exclusion zone will be in place on the water from 5.30pm.
⚠️ Drones are restricted across the whole of Falmouth while the display takes place.
🪂 The air display will begin at 6.15pm with the Royal Navy Raiders, followed by the Aerosuperbatics WingWalkers and finishing with The Flying Comrades.
🛍️ Expect it to be busy, so allow extra time and use public transport where you can. Avoid post-display delays by heading into town to enjoy all that Falmouth has to offer before heading home.

☀️ Watching the eclipse: The eclipse runs from 6.18pm to 8.10pm, reaching maximum coverage at 7.16pm. Remember, NASA is clear that standard sunglasses, polarised or not, don't protect your eyes, only certified eclipse glasses meeting the ISO 12312-2 standard are safe.
