BIG NEWS at The Barley Sheaf…

We now have TWO pool tables… because apparently one just wasn’t causing enough arguments 😅

AND… we’ve got a brand new jukebox!
Only 30p a song — cheaper than therapy and far louder. Time to dust off those guilty pleasures and relive your glory days one questionable tune at a time

Luke will already be playing Gold on repeat… although unfortunately his singing will still be louder than the jukebox itself

Wow, what a fantastic week here at The Barley, full of true community spirit!

We kicked things off with Paddy’s Day 🍀 — everyone who popped in got to enjoy FREE, absolutely delicious homemade Irish stew and soda bread, lovingly prepared by our amazing Patrycja. It went down an absolute treat! It was so good that we baked some more for some customers to take home ;)

We were also proud to welcome and host the incredible RAF St Mawgan team, who completed a 3-day walk raising money and donations for Newquay Food Bank. What an achievement — so far they’ve raised an amazing £3,679 (and donations are still coming in!) 🙌
On top of that, they collected over 700kg of food, which equates to around 1,180 meals. Simply outstanding effort 👏

Thursday brought our usual pool tournament, with a brilliant first-ever win for Rich (about time! 😉). Speaking of pool… we’ve got some VERY exciting news coming soon, so watch this space!

Friday was something special too — participants from the Cathedral Singing Challenge entertained us with their amazing singing, including a beautiful rendition of “Cornwall My Home.” It was truly outstanding!

Saturday blessed us with sunshine, and it was amazing to see the beer garden full again ☀️

And don’t forget — we’re dog friendly! All well-behaved pooches are welcome (on a lead, please)… and unlimited hugs from Emma are included! 🤗
