What a way to enjoy a wonderful Bank Holiday Monday in Cornwall in soaring temperatures and blue skies. We took a trip on the Paddle Steamer Waverley from Penzance to Land's End and back to Penzance via St Michaels' Mount. PS Waverley is 80 years old this year and is the world's last sea going paddle steamer.
It was also a very nostalgic cruise for Fiona whom having grown up in Gourock on The Clyde used to see the Waverley every day during the summer sailing season.

We recently visited Kerdroya, a beautiful labyrinth in the heart of Bodmin Moor close to Colliford Lake. There is a section of hedge which we helped to fund, dedicated to Gary’s great grandmother who lived on the moor. She had the very unusual name of Mandarina. The labyrinth is well worth a visit, particularly to see all the different styles of Cornish hedge used in its construction.

What a fabulous day we’ve just had with friends. We walked from Lambriggan to Trevellas Cove and then over the cliff path to Trevaunance for lunch at the excellent Beach Cafe. Afterwards we walked up to St Agnes and caught a bus back to Perranporth. From there we headed home up our lane via Bolingey.

Sandra and Fiona enjoyed a lovely day out. They parked at Truro Railway Station and walked to Malpas to board one of the Fal River boats to Falmouth. There is a bus from Truro that you can catch if you don’t fancy the walk. The boat stopped at Trelissick very close to the King Harry Ferry and then onto Falmouth. After enjoying time in Falmouth, they caught the train back to Truro where the car was waiting. An excellent round trip. 😊
