It’s been a slightly unhinged week at the homestead 😂🐔🦆

My little Rumplestiltskin decided she was going broody, because apparently she had important life plans and who am I to stand in the way of them?! 🙄😂 So obviously, we let her keep some babies.

Unfortunately, despite her best efforts, only ONE hatched. One. Singular. 😂🐥

She is now officially known as Skunk 🦨 and, because raising an only child apparently wasn’t dramatic enough, we had to go out and find her some more babies to join her new gang. 🤦‍♀️😂

So now Rumplestiltskin has a whole little squad, Skunk has acquired siblings, and I’ve apparently become a full-time chicken logistics coordinator. 🤷‍♀️🐥🐥🐥

THEN… while putting the ducks to bed, I discovered our VERY FIRST DUCK EGG!! 😍🥚

So basically, Friday has delivered babies, chaos, unexpected poultry admin and our first duck egg.

Been a bit quiet on here lately… we’ve spent the last week building a greenhouse! Now that’s finally done, it’s time to get growing 🌱🥕🥬

We already produce our own meat, so the plan is to grow our own veg and salad to go alongside it. Slowly becoming more and more self-sufficient… just need to remember to actually plant something now! 😂

The man who works his back off to make all our dreams a reality… quite literally, because we’re pretty sure his back has officially filed for retirement! 😂💀

Always grafting, always providing, always making sure everyone else is living their best life — while probably wondering why the hell you agreed to any of it in the first place! 😂

We absolutely love you and appreciate everything you do… even if we do mostly sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labour! 🤣❤️

Turns out you can’t just move to Cornwall and grow your own veg… first you need someone prepared to spend hours building your kitchen garden! 😂🌱

Safe to say he’s put a serious shift in for me and my wall 😍

As if he's at it again , no stopping this one, I needed a new smaller coop and run for my meat chickens to enjoy outside so he spends all weekend making me one, will be finished tomorrow , the love and appreciation are flowing ❤️🙏
