Just home after a beautiful couple of days, the first spent as guests at Portmeirion, the second at Chalet 18.
Portmeirion is a completely unique and stunning place to visit for the day or spend a night, just a scenic hour's drive from Chalet 18 and I would heartily recommend it at least once in your life!
Our visit to Chalet 18 this time included a meal in the Bay of Bengal in Tywyn which was very good, it's worth noting that it is cash only and hasn't a license for alcohol so take your own bottle. We then went on to watch The Hail Mary Project at the Magic Lantern Cinema, it's the first time I've visited the cinema in Tywyn and, although the film was a turgid 2 hours and 36 minutes of tedium, the cinema itself was a joy, completely unique and I would most certainly suggest you visit.
We finished our brief stay with breakfast at Toast Coffee Shop which was excellent, then a walk on Tywyn beach. I've found if you turn down the Idris Villas road and head as far as you can the road ends at the beach. The parking is free and seems to be generally available and you get straight onto the right hand side of Tywyn Beach which is just a little quieter (not that the beach ever seems to be overly full)
Chalet 18 has some availability between now and the end of October, I'll add a link to the AirBNB booking pages in the first comment ♥
