Hi All. (Particularly holiday home owners around Uig beach)

Just a quick question ??

You may or may not know that we have decided to give up the self catering business at Corncrake Holiday Cottage by the end of 2027 🤔

Some of our guests are asking if we can suggest somewhere in the general area to book, which we are more than happy to do.
Many of our guests have dogs and (to save me going through every website/social media page) I would be grateful if you could message me and let me know whether or not you accept dogs 🐾

Is everything closed on Sundays in the Outer Hebrides? 🤔 Not quite.

Sundays have a slower, more peaceful rhythm across the islands, but what is open depends on where you are.

📍 Uist & Barra
Hotels, shops, cafés, local attractions and activities tend to be OPEN - but there will be some closed.

📍 Lewis & Harris
The majority of shops, cafés, and visitor attractions will be CLOSED - with some exceptions including hotels, some restaurants, and Tesco supermarket and some activities.

🚌 Across all the islands
There are no public bus services on Sundays.

If you're planning a Sunday visit, do check opening times!

Embrace the quieter pace, take in the spectacular scenery, enjoy a beach walk, or simply pause and soak up the island atmosphere. Sometimes, slowing down is all part of the experience.

There is now ONE week available at Corncrake Holiday Cottage from the 18th of July to the 25th of July due to a cancellation

They haven't included the 2 chess pieces (one being the queen) that stand at the gate of Corncrake Holiday Cottage. Only our guests get a good look at them 😁
