Mini glamping site situated in the beautiful village of Achiltibuie Coigach in the Scottish Highlands

Each pod has underfloor heating, ensuite shower and toilet, small kitchenette with kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge freezer and double induction hob. All pots, pans, utensils and kitchenware provided. ��

There is free WIFI and parking � and smart tellies � to relax with netflix in the evenings. Each pod has a large decking area with outdoors seating and a fire pit � at the side of the pod avail

Long na Coigich! ✊️

Day trip ideas! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⛱️🌊☕️

Achiltibuie and the Summer Isles is a great destination with so many beautiful beaches, walks and hills to climb, you can certainly fill your time staying in the local area. 🌄

However if you do fancy staying longer in the pods, it's a fab base to explore further afield. We'll be sharing a few day trip ideas over the next few summer weeks. 🌞

The sun is slowly arriving in the Highlands the last few days so here's our first sunny day out itinery!

We headed North for 1.5 hours to the village of Scourie. Here they have a lovely wee beach and, the main reason we went, to try the award winning Crofter’s Kitchen | Scourie for lunch, and it was definitely worth the drive! 🦞🍔🌯 Everything is so well thought out and considered and its a great spot to eat outside on the picnic tables or take it away to the beach just round the corner. We loved their 30 mile menu; tough to decide what to pick as it all sounded so delish! The food was super tastey and we're already excited to return to try another dish! Our wee Bonnie toddler loved being able to watch the chickens and spy the pigs from the beautiful container restaurant on the croft.

We then headed another 30mins in the car to Oldshoremore beach, an old favourite! Always nearly empty, the beach is huge and dramatic with big crashing waves and lovely, sugary sand dunes. It has a burial ground just between the car park and beach, can't beat a coastal graveyard, i think! A fab way to spend a couple of hours relaxing and playing. 🌊⛱️🪣🐠

Having a two year old, we dont fit as much into the day trips nowdays but also in the area is the spectacular Sandwood Bay. With a 5 mile hike to this stunning beach, probably a day trip initself. We spied another food truck called Loch Clash Larder which looked tastey too. Driving over the Kyleskew bridge is worth a stop for a nice photo. You could also stop in at Kylesku Hotel or Newton Lodge for dinner on the way home with stunning views. Your'll pass the Bone Caves and Ardvreck Castle, both are worth adding to your itinery, so if you want to squeeze more into to the day than us, there's lots of options! 😁
