We have a great new book on the coffee table...

The long-awaited second volume of the history of our lovely little Lakeland village, written by local historians, Kevin Baverstock and Suzanne Tiplady. It was actually Suzanne who suggested we name our cottage after the Bogle when we changed it from its former name, Ivy Cottage.

If you've ever wondered what a Bogle is, let us introduce you!

A Bogle is a goblin-like character from northern English and Scottish folklore. A mischief maker but harmless to humans, our local Bogle hides out at Bogle Crag which you can walk to from the barn - let us know if you spot any signs of him when you're there!
