Today is a big day at Sefton House. The outdoor seating area, at the front of the house, as part of Natterjacks Cafe and Art Gallery, will be opened at 12 noon.

The stone wall is beautiful, with a truly Mediterranean feel about it, and the coffee is always the best.

There will be fre chocolate cake to sample from 12 pm 1 pm, so come along and join the fun.

Take a look inside, at the Cafe and the Art Gallery, currently featuring artists from the Printfest exhibition, which is being held at the Coronation Hall - Ulverston.

The house is comfortable and welcoming, as are the hosts. The location is excellent for access to Ulverston and out to the lakes and peninsulas. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice. Today we were visited by two very nice men from the Cumbria Fire Department in Barrow. They were carrying out the 5 yearly visit to check our fire procedures, risk assessments and testing procedures. All went well (they loved the new fire escape) and they gave us some tips for future development. Now I can rest, as I was up until 1 am preparing for this!!

Fire escape soon to be replaced, the left side of the house re-dashed, all dependant on reasonable weather - ie no rain. What are our chances?

Sefton House becomes Natterjacks on Saturday and Sunday, as we will be open to the public from 10 am to 11 pm, for the Dickensian Festival. More info on the Natterjacks page.

What a wonderful evening at Sefton House / Natterjacks. A huge crowd, lots of cake, Max O'Hara on the piano and Mary Dunsford on the harp. Heaven - and still 2 hours to go!!!
