📕A Dickens Christmas House Party at The Royal 🎭🎄

Following the success of our first Dickens House Party, we are delighted to announce its festive return this November.

From Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November 2026, The Royal will welcome back Ian and Gerald Dickens, great-great-grandsons of Charles Dickens, for a very special weekend of storytelling, history, fine dining and Victorian charm.

The highlight of the weekend will be Gerald Dickens’s acclaimed one-man performance of A Christmas Carol, a much-loved show he has performed to audiences around the world.

Guests can also look forward to a welcome evening with Ian and Gerald Dickens, readings, family anecdotes, Dickens memorabilia, time to explore Ventnor and the Island’s Dickens connections, and a specially created seven-course tasting experience from our award-winning Head Chef, Jacob Gough.

Charles Dickens stayed at The Royal in 1838, making this a wonderfully atmospheric setting for a festive literary weekend by the sea.

Prices start from £585 per room for a two-night stay, including return car ferry and access to the full programme, excluding optional items.

Another wonderful event at The Royal.

This week we were delighted to welcome back our regular client, A J Wells & Sons Ltd, for their UK dealer event at the hotel.

Founded here on the Isle of Wight in 1972, A J Wells & Sons is a privately owned, family controlled British company and manufacturers of Charnwood stoves. Still based on the Island and now run by the second and third generations of the family, Charnwood is internationally known for its craftsmanship, innovation and enduring quality.

Their event was a fantastic opportunity to showcase their incredible stoves, bring their dealer network together, and enjoy the hospitality, dining and setting that can only be experienced at The Royal.

It’s always a pleasure to host businesses with such a strong heritage and reputation.
