HERMITage Court Farmhouse is celebrating NATIONAL HERMIT DAY
National Hermit Day is observed annually on October 29. Our local Hermit lived behind The Hermitage Country House in a tiny cave which you can just glimpse as driving by to our Farmhouse.

This is a day to take some time to spend alone. It is time to step away from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life and retreat to someplace quiet.

The word hermit comes from the Latin ĕrēmīta, meaning “of the desert”.

A hermit is a person who lives, to some degree, in seclusion from society.

HOW TO OBSERVE

To celebrate National Hermit Day, find a secluded place and shut out the rest of the world. Remove all electronics, modern-day conveniences and be hermit-like. Oh, before you do that use to post on social media.
HISTORY

October 29th is the day St. Colman died in Ireland in 632 A.D. He had a seven-year hermitage in the Burren Forest in a cave. It is believed that National Hermit Day honors the date of his death.
