Hello My Lovelies, from Hawkers Cove, near Padstow on Thursday 16th April 2026.
I did eventually open yesterday at about 11.30 and had a few visitors until we closed at 3.00pm.
I was late, due to the fact that my broadband had developed a fault and nothing, including the till and card machine, was working.
I did manage to connect these vital pieces of equipment via my telephone, but, being a bit of a luddite, as far as technology goes, it took me longer than it should have.......
BT Openreach will be out this afternoon to hopefully reconnect me to the 21st century, but I'm hoping, a man, (or lady), up a ladder in the tea garden, or up the telegraph pole, in the lane, won't be too disruptive.........

Weather wise, today is looking good, with only a slight chance of a shower and much less wind bringing some warmer fresh air up from the south west.......
So I can say, with some certainty, that we will be open, from 11.00am to 3.00pm today ........
Scones, quiches and another large pot of our famous tomato and basil soup, will be ready to go when we are!

Sunrise at 6.21am and sunset at 8.17pm, so an extra three minutes of daylight, today, compared to yesterday. (They all add up).
High tide is at 5.18 this morning, and 5.39, this afternoon and low tide is at 11.49 this morning, so the cove should be accessible across the beach, early on, when we're open.
The difference between high and low tide is getting bigger, as we head towards a new moon, (no moon), tomorrow, and is about 6.4 metres, today, so much more of our lovely beach will be visible at low tide........

The pic from my bedroom window, at 6.55 this morning, looking across to Trebetherick, Polzeath and out to Pentire Point, is cloudy, but bright and is looking like an excellent day for a walk across the beach, or along the Coast Path.

Sorry for the repetition, (again), but don't forget to please say hello and introduce yourselves, if you do make it to our tiny tea garden, today.
It's lovely to put faces to names of the readers and followers, of my daily ramblings and you know that you, (and any pooches), will receive a very warm welcome........
More repetition........ If you arrive early, don't wait out on the path, making the place look untidy..... lol
Come in, have a seat and enjoy the view.
It's not a bad place to wait!
I will be there at 11.00 (ish)......

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Happy holidays xx
